Chinese tourist arrivals in Japan hit new highs for three consecutive months since September, while visitors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Indonesia hit a fresh monthly record in November, Kyodo news agency reported Wednesday, citing data from Japan National Tourism Organization. According to the report, total number of foreign tourists to Japan last month stood at 840,000, up 29.5 percent from a year earlier. Of the total, more than 800,000 were travelling to the country for the first time. In the first eleven months this year, about 9.5 million foreign tourists visited Japan. The full-year figure is expected to top the 10 million visitor goal set by the Japanese government, the report said.
