Google Inc. aims to double its investment in a data center in Taiwan to US$600 million, Economic Daily News reported on Wednesday, citing Joe Kava, the company’s vice president for global data centers. The facility, which began operation in the island’s Changhua prefecture on Wednesday, is the latest of the internet giant’s 12 data centers around the world and the only one in Asia besides another facility being planned in Singapore, the report said.
