Seven regional firms may be set up in rail revamp, paper says

China Railway Corp., the successor of the dissolved Ministry of Railways, may set up seven regional companies to restructure local railways assets, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Thursday, citing an unidentified source. The seven firms will be based in Shenyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan, Xi’An and Lanzhou, the paper said. The restructuring is expected to be initiated after March next year, according to the report.
