Taiwan’s FSC warns CCB on ‘improper’ ad wording, paper says

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission said a newspaper advertisement placed by China Construction Bank Corp. (00939.HK, 601939.CN) to celebrate its issuance of so-called baodao bonds contained improper wording and more care should be taken in future, the Economic Daily News reported Wednesday. The bank said in the advertisement Monday that it successfully completed the issuance “on the island”, a reference that appeared to diminish Taiwan’s status. The GreTai Securities Market notified the bank saying the wording violated the cross-strait principle of reciprocity, the report said.
