Average pay seen rising 8.8% in 2014, Xinhua says

Employees are expected to see an average salary increase of 8.8 percent in 2014, Xinhua news agency reported over the weekend, citing a survey by human resources information provider 51job.com. About 74.9 percent of companies may give one-time salary increases while 17.3 percent said they plan to hike salaries more than once, the report said. Companies in the financial, property, high technology and biopharmaceutical industries are expected to announce pay increases of more than 10 percent.
