China’s electricity consumption in November amounted to 448.5 billion kWh, marking an increase of 8.5 percent over the same period last year, Xinhua news agency reported Saturday, citing data from the National Energy Administration. For the 11 months to November, electricity consumption totaled 4.83 trillion kWh, up 7.5 percent from a year earlier. The average cumulative operating hours of power generation facilities during the 11-month period was 4,132 hours, down 46 hours compared to the previous year. Hydropower has seen less usage, while that of coal fired electricity has gone up during the period, the report said.
