Taiwan’s Ma wants economic zone plans done by yr-end, paper says

Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou { 馬英九} said the island’s cabinet should complete the planning for the free economic demonstration zones by the year-end, United Daily News reported Sunday, citing Ma Weikuo, deputy spokesman for the president’s office. Taiwan’s leader was quoted as saying at a meeting with the heads of the cabinet departments on Sunday that the government needs to speed up establishment of the zones as well as create conditions to join regional economic integration efforts, the report said.
