Smaller subsidies for public transport hybrids, paper says

The central government is expected to lower subsidies by the end of this year for public transport firms buying hybrid vehicles, the Shanghai Securities News reported Wednesday. The subsidy ceiling is expected to fall from 420,000 yuan (US$69,184) set in 2009 to around 100,000 yuan, the report said. In all, 9,000 new energy cars have been sold in China this year, with 1,000 of the vehicles pure electric cars and the rest hybrids, the report said.
