China workers evacuated amid tensions in South Sudan, paper says

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) and the Shandong bureau of China Railway Construction Corp. Ltd. (01186.HK, 601186.CN) are said to have evacuated a total of 68 Chinese workers from Southern Sudan to Kenya’s capital Nairobi on Saturday, as military tension broke out after three US military aircraft were hit by rebel fire in South Sudan, the Securities Times reported Sunday. All the Chinese workers concerned are in good physical state, a CNPC contractor representative was quoted as saying.
