Japan eyes air space crisis management system, Kyodo says

Japan has proposed to China that they hold negotiations over the establishment of a mechanism for air space crisis management to avoid unexpected incidents, Kyodo news agency reported Monday, citing several people familiar with the matter. The proposal is seen as a move to ease tensions between the two countries after Beijing declared an air defense identification zone over the East China Sea, the report said. Japan hopes China will respond as soon as possible, it added.
