Danish brewer Carlsberg has emerged as the only bidder for nine beer production plants and a malt factory owned by Chongqing Brewery Co. Ltd. (600132.CN) in eastern China, Xinhua news agency reported Wednesday. Chongqing Brewery has on Nov. 25 put the assets on sale at the Chongqing United Assets and Equity Exchange for 1.56 billion yuan (US$256.88 million). Bidding closed on December 20. Several domestic beer companies have enquired about the assets and their valuation, but none has made a bid, sources from the equity exchange were quoted as saying.
