Govt plans differential power pricing system, NDRC says

China will implement a differential pricing system on electricity tariffs nationwide in a bid to encourage consumers to switch more power usage to off-peak hours, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement on its website Wednesday. Local governments are required to publish their pricing standards under the system by the end of 2015. Meanwhile, the government plans to install new power meters in 95 percent of the country’s households by the end of 2017, the statement said.
