Govt to keep a close eye on home prices in top cities, CNS says

China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has vowed to maintain tight regulation and monitoring of the property market, with home prices to be kept in check through differential taxation, mortgage and purchase restriction measures in 2014, China News Service reported Wednesday, citing Minister Jiang Weixin {姜偉新}. Markets in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the nation’s first-tier cities, will be especially kept under close watch, Jiang was quoted as saying at a work conference.
