Guangzhou public revenue seen up 13.3% this year, paper says

The Guangzhou municipal government is expected to see its public budget revenue at 112.5 billion yuan (US$18.53 billion) this year, up 13.3 percent from a year earlier and above the preset target of 13 percent growth, Yangcheng Evening News reported Wednesday, citing the city’s financial bureau chief Yuan Jinxia. The bureau’s data showed revenue in the first eleven months this year was at 104.09 billion yuan, up 12.2 percent year on year and accounting for 95.4 percent of the budget. The growth was 16.4 percent after eliminating the effect from the value-added tax reform, the report said.
