Former senior publishing official expelled from CPC, report says

Qi Pingjing {齊平景}, former deputy director of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China, Caixin.com reported Friday, citing the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI). A CCDI investigation has found that Qi took advantage of his position to provide benefits for others in exchange for money and gifts, the report said. Meanwhile, he was also found to have embezzled public funds and abused his power to seek benefit for his relatives’ business activities. Qi’s ill-gotten gains will be confiscated and his case will be transferred to judicial authorities, it said.
