Taiwan wants daily RMB exchange quota raised, paper says

Taiwan’s central bank is seeking an increase in the daily quota for individuals on the island to exchange renminbi, the Economic Daily News reported Thursday, citing remarks by governor Perng Fai-nan at the bank’s quarterly board meeting. Currently, the quota is 20,000 yuan (US$3,297.26). Meanwhile, Perng was quoted as saying the cross-strait currency swap agreement will not be inked by the end of the year.
