Tianjin bourse kicks off carbon credit trading, paper says

The Tianjin Climate Exchange launched carbon credit trading on Thursday, with transactions on the first day amounting to 1.37 million yuan (US$225,877), Shanghai Securities News reported the same day. Of the total transactions, 1.25 million yuan was done through agreements among eight firms in the physical market while 120,295 yuan was done through online platform, the report said. Total trading volume was 49,040 metric tons on the first day, according to the report.
