A-share markets saw capital outflow surge this month, paper says

China’s A-share markets saw a net capital outflow of 110.03 billion yuan (US$18.12 billion) in the first 27 days of this month, the China Securities Journal reported Sunday. The outflow represents an increase of 87.16 percent over the same period last month, and compares to net inflow of 72.78 million yuan in the same period last year, it said. Analysts attributed the outflow to several reasons, including year-end effect, liquidity crunch, slowing economy and the impending resumption of initial public offerings in the country, the report said.
