Dozens of lawmakers from the Hunan city of Hengyang have been expelled from the municipal legislature over alleged election fraud, Xinhua reported Sunday. The Hunan Provincial People’s Congress resolved over the weekend to dismiss 56 members of the Hengyang congress for allegedly giving out more than 110 million yuan (US$18.13 million) in election bribes to 518 other lawmakers and 68 election officials.
