Trina Solar Ltd. (TSL), China’s second-largest solar-panel maker, is planning to build a solar power plant with 1 gigawatt of capacity in Xinjiang, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing a company statement. Trina signed a framework agreement with authorities in Turpan prefecture to develop the ground-mounted solar farm, the company said. It’s also planning a factory in the area to supply components for the project, according to the report. The project will be built in phases over four years starting in early 2014, the report said.
