Coming soon to Beijing: A giant horse-dragon

According to Chinese astrology, the Dragon and the Horse make a good match as the two are said to share the same high energy and love of good times.

It is perhaps keeping this in mind that French artist Francois Delaroziere thought it fit to create a giant horse-dragon to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the resumption of diplomatic ties between China and France.

On Tuesday, Delaroziere unveiled his creation – a giant mechanical sculpture made of wood and steel — at The Machines of the Isle, a popular cultural and tourist attraction in Nantes, France.

The horse-dragon will be the star of the show “Long Ma” which will be presented in Beijing on October 17 as part of the commemorative events for modern Sino-French relations.

Well, how does the sculpture look?

Here are some pictures, so we’ll let you decide for yourselves.
