Fewer illegal publications found last year, Xinhua says

China’s Office of the National Work Group for Combating Pornography and Illegal Publications has confiscated 20.53 million copies of illegal publications last year, Xinhua news agency reported Thursday, citing data published by the office the same day. The seizures last year represent a significant decline compared to 2012 and 2011, when 45 million and 52 million such publications were confiscated respectively in those years. Meanwhile, the data also revealed that seven copyright infringement cases involving more than 10 million yuan each were found last year and acted up on, the report said.
