China Mobile is investigating a deal between its Hong Kong subsidiary and Hong Kong Television Network (HKTV) over potential regulatory issues in the mainland, the South China Morning Post reported Monday. HKTV said the agreement with China Mobile Hong Kong Corp. had closed. Any inquiry by China Mobile is unlikely to reverse the deal, the report cited an industry analyst as saying. The HK$142 million acquisition of China Mobile Hong Kong, the only operator specifically assigned spectrum to provide mobile television services, was announced last month.
