Food prices up slightly in major cities Dec 21-30, NBS says

Food prices were up slightly on average in 50 major Chinese cities in the ten days to December 30, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday. Prices of pork belly, beef round, fresh whole chicken and flour climbed 0.2 percent each from the previous reviewing period. Bean prices surged 13.5 percent to 10.74 yuan (US$1.77) per kilogram while soybean oil price fell 0.5 percent to 11.17 yuan per liter.
