US duties on Chinese tires remain in place, govt says

The US International Trade Commission (USITC) ruled on Monday that the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on certain off-the-road tires from China will remain in force, according to information posted on the Chinese government portal gov.cn Tuesday. The USITC said revoking the duties may cause material injury to US tire makers. The ruling comes under the five-year sunset review process after the US first imposed the duties in 2008, slapping antidumping tariffs of up to 210 percent and anti-subsidy duty of up to 14 percent on Chinese tire imports, the report said.
