Airfares may fall as China opens up ticketing, paper says

Airfares could fall in China with Beijing’s decision to let overseas airlines use two major international systems to distribute tickets to travel agents in the country, Beijing Times reported Wednesday, citing sources from the distributors and the Civil Aviation Administration of China. TravelSky Technology Ltd.’s (0696.HK) global distribution system has dominated the mainland market but Air France, KLM and Lufthansa have been given the go-ahead to use the Amadeus and Abacus systems, the report said.
