Taiwan’s exports rose 0.7 percent year on year to US$303.2 billion in 2013, beating a 0.4 percent growth forecast by the government, China Securities Journal reported Wednesday, citing the Ministry of Finance. The amount is the second highest on record. The trade surplus came in at US$33.1 billion, a new record. The ministry expects weak exports in January but projects an improvement from the second quarter, the report said.
