China expects one-third of its oil and gas production to come from unconventional sources by 2030, China Securities Journal reported Thursday, citing Peng Qiming, head of geological survey of the Ministry of Land and Resources. These include shale gas, coalbed gas and tight oil. Sichuan, Ordos and other areas in the west are expected to boost their unconventional oil and gas production to 60 percent of the national output by 2030 from the present 45 percent, the report said. Natural gas production is forecast to match oil output by 2025, Peng was quoted as saying.
