Some of the technology in the recent Chang’e 3 lunar mission has found its way to civilian use, 21st Century Business Herald reported Thursday, citing the Shanghai Aerospace Administration. This include the mobile system used in the lunar rover and certain robotic applications. Shanghai’s military-civilian techology conversion program covers solar power, lithium-ion batteries, motor car electronics, satellite applications and the internet. It has set a revenue target of 40 billion yuan (US$6.61 billion) for 2015, with at least 20 percent of the income coming from civilian applications, the report said.
