Sony delays sale of PlayStation 4 in China

Sony announced on Thursday that it is delaying the sale of its PlayStation 4 videogame console in China, without specifying the reasons, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The Japanese electronics giant will delay sales of its latest-generation PlayStation 4 and its hand-held gaming console, the PlayStation Vita, the report said.

Sony had in December said that it will start selling its PlayStation 4 in China this month.

In its statement Thursday, the company didn’t specify when it would start selling the consoles in the world’s biggest computing market.

The China delay marks the latest setback for Sony after its videogame service PlayStation Network was disrupted last month by a hacking incident, the report noted. Microsoft’s videogame network, Xbox Live, was also hit in the hacking attack.
