Vehicle sales in China rose 13.87 percent year on year to 21.98 million units in 2013, breaking the 20-million barrier for the first time, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) said Thursday. That makes China the world’s biggest vehicle market for a fifth year running. Passenger cars accounted for 17.93 million units, up 15.71 percent from a year earlier. CAAM secretary general Shi Jianhua said sales are expected to grow 10 percent to 24 million units this year.
