China 2013 export value up 7.9%, govt says

The value of China’s exports rose 7.9 percent year on year to 13.72 trillion yuan (US$2.21 trillion) in 2013, General Administration of Customs spokesman Zheng Yuesheng {鄭躍聲} said Friday. Imports were also up, rising 7.3 per cent to 12.11 trillion yuan. It is the first time the total value of trade has surpassed US$4 trillion, Zheng said. China’s five leading trading partners were unchanged, with the European Union in top spot, followed by the United States, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Hong Kong and Japan.
