Ecuador’s state-run oil company Petroamazonas will pursue partnerships with foreign companies that could increase oil production in the Andean country, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday. The oil giant reaches out to China this week during a visit by general manager Oswaldo Madrid for talks with officials from China National Petroleum Corp. They are expected to discuss a number of options including Chinese investment in Petroamazonas projects. Petroamazonas already has proposals from some companies including Russia’s Belorusneft and Argentina’s YPF, the report said.
