Ministry denies halt to new land supply, paper says

The Ministry of Land and Resources has denied any plans to stop approvals for new land supply in cities with five million people or more, China Business News reported Monday, citing an official weibo post. It said a speech by Land and Resources Minister Jiang Daming {姜大明} during a Jan. 10 work conference had been misinterpreted. Jiang had said land supply would primarily come from reorganizing and allocating existing sites and that a proposed suspension of new plots in big cities would be made gradually, the report said.
