Three more human cases of H7N9 bird flu have been confirmed in China, Xinhua news agency reported over the weekend, citing local health authorities. One case was in the eastern Jiangsu province, where a 54-year-old male contacted the disease on Jan. 9 and is now hospitalized in Nanjing, the report said. The other two cases were in the southern Guangdong province. A 29-year-old male was found to have the disease on Jan. 3 in Guangzhou, while a 76-year-old patient was confirmed on Jan. 9 in Shenzhen. As of Jan. 11, Guangdong had confirmed 14 human cases of the H7N9 bird flu.
