Beijing will introduce changes to urban management, air quality and traffic control and population planning, China News Service reported Tuesday. The reform is part of a 57-point policy to streamline municipal operations. It includes a resident card system to better manage the city’s floating population which makes up one-third of the total. Also, the city government will improve the public transport system to ease traffic and set up air-pollution monitoring stations to speed up the flow of related information, the report said.
