CNPC appoints new chief accountant, paper says

China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has appointed a new chief accountant to replace Wen Qingshan {溫青山}, who is rumored to have been detained since December for questioning in a corruption investigation, the Beijing Times reported Tuesday. The newspaper said the state-owned company quietly replaced the name of its chief accountant on its website to Liu Yuezhen {劉躍珍}, the former chief accountant of China Aerospace Science & Industry Corp. The oil and gas giant didn’t make any official response to rumors about Wen’s detention and investigation, the report said.
