Banks told to set up interbank business units, paper says

The China Banking Regulatory Commission has ordered commercial banks to set up a separate unit for their interbank business, such as wealth management and trust-related operations, in an effort to curb risks, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Thursday, citing an unnamed source. The banks’ branches and other departments will not be allowed to undertake such business, the report said.
