Henan firm buys into Luxembourg cargo airline, paper says

Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Co. Ltd. has acquired a 35 percent stake in Luxembourg’s Cargolux Airlines International, which will allow the carrier to introduce an air freight service between China and Europe, China Daily reported Thursday, citing local officials. According to the agreement, Cargolux, Europe’s largest cargo airline, will open a freight service route between Zhengzhou city in Central China’s Henan province and Luxembourg, and build an air cargo network that links Asia and Europe. The investment deal was signed Tuesday by Francois Bausch, head of Luxembourg’s department of sustainable development and primary industries, and a representative of the Chinese company after his meeting with Henan governor Xie Fuzhan on Tuesday, the report said.
