New blueprint for coal logistics development, NDRC says

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the National Energy Administration have recently rolled out a development plan for the coal logistics industry, according to information posted on the NDRC website Wednesday. Under the new plan, the annual railway transportation capacity of coal is expected to reach 3 billion tons by 2020. Eleven large-scale coal reserve facilities, and 30 logistics parks — each having annual handling capacity of 20 million tons of coal — will be built. A group of modern coal logistics flagship firms will be nurtured, with at least ten companies having annual logistics income of 50 billion yuan (US$8.27 billion), the report said.
