Work on social credit system to be speeded up, govt says

The government will speed up efforts to set up a social credit system to ensure a healthy social and economic environment that is built on honesty and trust, government portal gov.cn reported Wednesday, citing discussions at a State Council meeting chaired by Premier Li Keqiang. At the meeting, the cabinet is said to have passed some guidelines related to the social credit system, including setting up a national information collection and management system for credit sharing, as well as pushing for legislation. A revised draft law on work safety that aims to enhance punishment for errant enterprises was also passed at the meeting, the report said.
