Prices of new homes rose 0.4 percent in 70 major Chinese cities in December, the fourth straight month of decline, China Securities Journal reported Monday, citing data from the National Bureau of Statistics. Only Wenzhou in eastern China’s Zhejiang province saw a year on year slowdown, falling 2.8 percent from a year ago. Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen saw increases of more than 20 percent from the previous year. Shanghai’s price growth was unchanged, the report said.
