Beijing to spend 760 bln yuan in pollution fight, report says

Beijing mayor Wang Anshun {王安順} said the local government will invest up to 760 billion yuan (US$125.61 billion) to alleviate the city’s PM2.5 pollution and achieve the targets agreed with the central government for 2017, Tencent’s portal reported Monday. It quoted Wang as telling state media that Chaoyang district, which accounts for over 20 percent of the capital’s gross domestic product, should take the lead in mitigating pollution.
