CIC’s Gao Xiqing retires, paper says

A senior official of China Investment Corp. (CIC), a sovereign wealth fund that manages part of the country’s foreign exchange reserves, has retired, China Securities Journal reported Monday, citing unnamed sources close to the fund. Gao Xiqing {高西慶} will be replaced as CIC vice chairman and president by chief investment officer Li Keping {李克平}. Li worked in the State Council before serving various investment positions in the National Council for Social Security Fund, mainly in charge of overseas investment. Li succeeded Gao to the post of chief investment officer in July 2011, the report said.
