Freight forwarders hit higher taxes from VAT scheme, paper says

More than 200 freight forwarding firms are opposing their inclusion in the coverage of the value-added tax trial scheme, saying the new system has only increased their tax burden, the 21st Century Business Herald reported Tuesday, citing the World International Freight Forwarder Alliance. The group plans to submit a letter of complaint to the State Administration of Taxation, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce in the coming days, noting that the VAT scheme introduced last year has only increased their tax obligations, instead of helping them, the report said.
