Shanghai health authorities confirmed Monday that two men died from the H7N9 strain of bird flu over the weekend, Xinhua news agency reported. One victim, aged 31 years, was a doctor at the Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Hospital while the other was a 77-year-old poultry farmer, the report said. Meanwhile, Guangzhou also confirmed one death. Elsewhere, Zhejiang has confirmed six more human cases of the H7N9 strain of bird flu on Sunday and Monday, taking the total number of cases identified in 2014 to 26, the report said.
