Alipay extends O2O reach to HK, Taipei, CNR says

Third-party payment service provider Alipay announced Wednesday that it has extended its online-to-offline (O2O) payment service beyond the mainland for the first time to Hong Kong and Taipei, China National Radio reported Thursday. From now on, Alipay customers in the two cities can use their smartphones to scan product QR codes to pay for goods at selected stores. The new service is available in Hong Kong at 336 OK convenience stores, 90 Bonjour Cosmetics outlets and 19 Giordano shops, and in Taipei at the Uni-Hankyu department store, the report said.
