Taiwanese authorities on Thursday detained a former executive of Foxconn Technology amid a probe into suspected bribery involving suppliers, the South China Morning Post reported Friday. Three other ex-Foxconn employees, accused of taking bribes from suppliers, were released on bail, while a middleman was also detained, Chang Chieh-chin, the head prosecutor at the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office, was quoted as saying. Investigators on Tuesday searched 19 locations including residences and offices of suppliers, the report said. Foxconn said this week it is cooperating with authorities in the investigation.
