Two more private carriers get CAAC nod, paper says

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has approved the establishment of Fuzhou Airlines and Jiuyuan Airlines, the National Business Daily reported Friday. Fuzhou Airlines is backed by Hainan Airlines Co. Ltd. (600221.CN) and a few other private firms with a registered capital of 2 billion yuan (US$330.63 million), while Jiuyuan Airlines is a low-cost carrier based in Guangzhou and funded by Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines, the report said. The two airlines are the fourth and fifth carriers to be granted a license since May 2013, when the regulator resumed issuing licenses after a six-year suspension, it added.
