Dongfeng Motor saw its car sales rise 14.8 percent last year to 3.5 million units, making it the second-biggest player in China’s automobile industry, China Daily reported Monday. The sales expansion was higher than the industry average, giving the automaker a market share of 16 percent, it said. Sales of passenger cars stood at 2.9 million units, up 8.2 percent from 2012, while commercial vehicle sales reached 633,000 units, the report said. For 2014, the company is said to have set a sales target of 3.8 million vehicles.
